Yesterday, we discussed that the Indian Ganesha icon traveled to China and was incorporated in Buddhism.
Further, the Ganesha cult came to Japan through China and was first mentioned in 806 CE as a part of Shingon (Mantra) Buddhism.
Well, it is not just Ganesha, you find several other Indian deities worshiped in Japan such as Lakshmi, Saraswati, Indra, Brahma, Kubera, Garuda and more!
But, how did it all start? How did Hindu deities travel from India to Japan?
Though a Post-graduate in Management and earlier worked for various industries, Harshada treasured her passion for painting by self-learning. She is also a good writer and has written books for the organization she worked. However, her deep-seated love for colours couldn’t let her stay inside the four walls of the corporate world.
